Lobotomy PX is a massive Imperial Stout defined by its decadent 13.5% ABV and the rich, vinous influence of Pedro Ximénez character. The sensory profile is dominated by layers of bittersweet dark chocolate and espresso-like roasted malt, seamlessly interwoven with notes of sun-dried raisins, figs, and thick molasses. The high gravity manifests in a luxurious, syrupy texture that coats the palate, while the significant alcohol presence provides a steady, sophisticated warmth. This is a complex, slow-sipping experience where deep roast and oxidative dark fruit notes harmonize in a lingering, bittersweet finish, reflecting an intense interpretation of the style.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). Pours with a dense, dark tan head that shows moderate to low retention, eventually receding to a persistent collar. High viscosity is apparent through visible legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity. Initial waves of bittersweet chocolate, charred grain, and espresso are immediately followed by a rich, vinous character. Strong notes of raisins, dates, and black currants meld with a subtle caramel sweetness and a noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth. Low hop aroma.

Taste. Intensely flavored and complex. A heavy base of dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans balances a significant residual sweetness. Mid-palate reveals concentrated flavors of dried dark fruits, molasses, and plum. Bitterness is firm and provides necessary balance to the malt, leading to a long, warming finish that oscillates between roasted malt bitterness and a port-like sweetness.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied with a thick, velvety, and chewy texture. Carbonation is low, enhancing the beer's lusciousness. A distinct and comforting alcohol warmth is present throughout, feeling well-integrated rather than sharp.
