AF Brew Brewer's Profile: Brut IPA

Brut IPA 7 º 20 IBU
This Brut IPA delivers an exceptionally crisp and bone-dry experience, characterized by its lively, champagne-like effervescence. Fermented with Champagne yeast, the beer provides a neutral canvas for a vibrant hop profile featuring Strata, Sabro, and Citra. Expect a rush of passion fruit and strawberry from the Strata, complemented by the creamy coconut and tropical depth of Sabro, while Citra adds a bright citrus punch. The finish is remarkably clean and snappy, with virtually no residual sweetness, emphasizing the delicate interplay between the aromatic hops and the highly attenuated, light-bodied base of this Specialty IPA.
Appearance. Very pale gold to straw (SRM 2-3). Brilliant clarity with an effervescent, champagne-like stream of bubbles. Persistent, mousse-like white head with fine bubbles and moderate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward bouquet. Distinctive passion fruit and herbal dank notes from Strata, coupled with pineapple and a hint of coconut from Sabro. Bright grapefruit and lime zest from Citra. Malt aroma is very low to neutral, and the fermentation profile is exceptionally clean with no noticeable esters or phenols.
Taste. Initial impression is of extreme dryness and sparkling carbonation. Leading hop flavors of tropical fruit, strawberry, and citrus mirror the aroma. Very low malt flavor, providing just enough structure to support the hop oils. Bitterness is moderate but feels amplified by the bone-dry finish. Aftertaste is short and clean, highlighting lingering citrus and berry notes.
Mouthfeel. Light to very light body. Very high carbonation, creating a prickly, effervescent sensation on the tongue. Light alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated. Bone-dry and crisp with zero astringency.
