This formidable Oatmeal Stout presents a deep, oceanic complexity, born from aging in oak puncheons beneath the Pacific. The Chocolate malt provides a decadent foundation of rich cocoa and roasted coffee, while a generous addition of oats and wheat creates an exceptionally silky, luxurious texture. A subtle, mineral-driven saltiness from Tasmanian kelp weaves through the dark grain profile, enhancing the savory depths. Despite its strength, the finish is smooth and integrated, balancing malty sweetness with a gentle earthy hop presence and a whisper of brine that reflects its unique maritime maturation.
Appearance. Opaque, deep ebony to jet black; crowned by a thick, persistent, creamy tan head that leaves dense lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity; prominent milk chocolate and roasted coffee from Chocolate malt, backed by a nutty, grainy sweetness. Subtle floral hop notes and a hint of briny salinity are present, alongside moderate dark fruit esters.
