Aerofab Ouragan V2.2 is an assertive Double IPA that balances power with high drinkability. A prominent sensory experience is driven by the interplay of Sabro and Mosaic hops, delivering an intense aromatic profile of creamy coconut, ripe pineapple, and subtle blueberry. The use of Hornibal yeast enhances these tropical esters, providing a bright, fruity fermentation character that complements the hop saturation. A lean, neutral malt base allows the hops to shine, leading into a firm, clean bitterness. At 8% ABV, it offers a smooth warmth that integrates seamlessly into a dry, lingering finish of pine and citrus zest.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-9 SRM). Persistent, creamy white head with excellent lacing. Slight to moderate haze is present, common in modern interpretations.
Aroma. Intense hop-forward aroma featuring heavy tropical fruit, specifically coconut and tangerine from the Sabro, alongside Mosaic's signature notes of blueberry, mango, and a touch of resinous pine. Low grainy malt sweetness and moderate fruity esters.
Taste. Initial hop punch of stone fruit and tropical cream. High bitterness is firm but well-integrated, lacking harshness. Clean, supportive malt provides a soft bready backdrop. Sabro and Mosaic flavors persist with layers of melon and pine. Very dry finish with a long, resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture. Moderate-high carbonation provides a crisp edge. Noticeable but restrained alcohol warmth that remains smooth without being solventy.
