This modern interpretation of a Double IPA showcases a luscious, silky body derived from a massive addition of oats in the grist. This oat-heavy grain bill creates a soft, off-sweet foundation that acts as the perfect vehicle for explosive, juicy tropical hop aromas. Intense double dry-hopping with Citra, Galaxy, and El Dorado delivers vivid, saturated layers of bright tangerine, lush papaya, and ripe melon. In a departure from aggressive traditional bitterness, this expression leans into a soft, subtly sweet finish that lingers gracefully. It is a highly aromatic and velvety strong ale designed to showcase modern hop varieties in their most fruit-forward form.

Appearance. Deep golden-orange color with a persistent, dense, thick white head that leaves excellent lacing. Displays a prominent, uniform haziness from the heavy oat grist and intensive dry-hop additions.

Aroma. High to intense aroma dominated by vibrant tropical and citrus fruits, specifically featuring sweet tangerine, ripe papaya, and honeydew melon. A clean, soft, sweet-grainy oat malt character supports the hops in the background, with a very low, clean alcohol presence and minimal fermentation esters.

Taste. Initial impression of sweet tropical fruit juice, followed by prominent hop flavors of tangerine, papaya, and cantaloupe. The malt flavor presents as a soft, bready, oat-like sweetness. Bitterness is low to moderate, presenting far softer than classic style examples. Finishes with a smooth, subtly sweet, and fruit-forward aftertaste rather than a sharp, dry bitterness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full, exceptionally smooth and silky body with a creamy texture from the high oat content. Carbonation is moderate. Displays a very light, well-integrated, and smooth alcohol warmth without any harsh hop-derived astringency.
