This modern interpretation of a German Pils showcases a vibrant fusion of traditional lager structure and expressive New Zealand character. Adalt Brewing utilizes Nelson Sauvin and Motueka hops to transform the classic profile into a sensory exploration of white wine grapes, crushed gooseberries, and bright lime zest. Beneath the high hop intensity lies a clean, lean foundation of Pilsner malt, providing subtle notes of toasted cracker and light honey. With its brilliant clarity and sharp, dry finish, the beer balances a firm bitterness with a refreshing crispness that highlights the unique tropical and citrus-forward terroir of the Southern Hemisphere hops.
Appearance. Straw to pale yellow (3 SRM); brilliant clarity with a dense, creamy, long-lasting white head and fine lacing.
Aroma. High hop intensity featuring distinct white grape, gooseberry, and mojito-like lime from the Nelson Sauvin and Motueka hops. Supported by low grainy-sweet malt, honey-like notes, and a very clean, sulfur-free fermentation profile.
Taste. Crisp and dry. Initial bready, cracker-like malt sweetness is rapidly superseded by a sharp, clean hop bitterness. Flavors of passion fruit and citrus peel dominate. The finish is remarkably dry and crisp with a lingering, pleasant mineral snap and floral-fruity hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation, contributing to a prickly, refreshing sensation. Very smooth with no alcohol warmth or astringency, finishing clean and light.
