Adalt Brewing IPA 03
This West Coast IPA presents a punchy sensory profile defined by a robust hop presence. A foundation of Maris Otter, Golden Promise, and Vienna malts provides a clean, crackery cereal backdrop without caramel sweetness, allowing the double dry hop of Amarillo, Centennial, and Citra to dominate. Vibrant notes of resinous pine and citrus zest lead the charge, supported by floral undertones and a sharp, grapefruit-like bite from the Columbus and Cryo Citra additions. The finish is decisively bitter and dry, emphasizing a crisp, refreshing quality that highlights the interplay between fruity esters and the pungent, dank character of the hop oils.
Appearance. Deep gold (6-7 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Features a medium-sized, persistent white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent resinous pine, grapefruit peel, and floral notes. A clean, grainy malt character from the Maris Otter and Golden Promise provides a subtle bready background. Fermentation profile is neutral and clean.
Taste. Initial impact of high, clean bitterness followed by intense flavors of citrus zest and pine resin. The malt profile is low but supportive, offering a dry, crackery flavor with no caramel presence. High bitterness persists into a very dry, crisp finish with a lingering resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly crisp texture. Carbonation is moderate-high. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, consistent with its strength.
