Red Ale 6.8 º 29 IBU
Acht Diablo Rojo presents as a captivating darker variant of the classic Saison style. This “Red Devil” pours with a deep copper-to-red hue, offering a complex sensory profile that balances rustic charm with vibrant fermentation character. The aroma is led by prominent fruity esters of dried orange peel and red apple, intertwined with a sharp, black pepper phenolic spice. A background of toasted Munich malt provides a soft, bready foundation that supports the yeast-driven complexity. On the palate, the beer is exceptionally dry and effervescent, showcasing earthy Continental hop flavors and a firm bitterness that lingers alongside a spicy, clean finish.
Appearance. Deep amber to reddish-copper (12–18 SRM) with a long-lasting, dense, ivory-colored rocky head. Displays characteristic Belgian lacing and a slight haze from its unfiltered, artisanal nature.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity featuring a mix of fruity esters like red apple and citrus, complemented by a distinct spicy, black pepper phenolic character. Low earthy and floral hop notes sit over a light, grainy, and slightly toasty malt base.
Taste. Initial impression is a balance of spicy yeast and grainy malt followed by a very dry finish. Medium-low fruity and spicy yeast flavors dominate, with a supportive low hop flavor. Bitterness is moderate but accentuated by the high attenuation, leading to a lingering, spicy aftertaste with no residual sweetness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with very high, effervescent carbonation. Provides a crisp, refreshing sensation on the tongue with a subtle, light alcohol warmth and no astringency.
