ABYSS Brewing Daytrippin
This vibrant Hazy IPA delivers a sun-drenched sensory experience, showcasing a masterful blend of Citra, Galaxy, and Simcoe hops. The aroma is an intense explosion of tropical passionfruit and ripe peach driven by the Galaxy, while Citra contributes bright layers of grapefruit and lime zest. Simcoe anchors the profile with a subtle piney resin and earthy undertone, adding complexity to the lush fruit. On the palate, the hop-forward character shines against a soft, bready malt backdrop, offering a juicy, smooth impression without harsh bitterness. Perfectly balanced at 6% ABV, it embodies a refreshing, tropical character with a soft, pillowy finish.
Appearance. Straw to light amber with a soft, opaque haze that provides a luminous shine. It features a medium-to-large, meringue-like white head with high retention and beautiful lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring notes of tropical passionfruit, stone fruit peach, and bright citrus. A clean, grainy, and lightly bready malt character sits in the background, supporting fruity fermentation esters with no clashing phenols.
Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with layers of mango and citrus. Malt flavor is low to medium and bready. The perceived bitterness is low to medium-high but feels soft and restrained, finishing off-dry and smooth with a lingering, non-harsh hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a characteristic soft, smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate. The beer is approachable and creamy without being viscous, showing no alcohol warmth or astringency.
