This American IPA showcases a modern, hop-forward profile powered by Azacca and Strata hops. The massive 40% addition of oats and wheat creates a luminescent, soft foundation for a complex sensory experience defined by tropical passionfruit and sweet strawberry vibes. A distinct, resinous dankness provides a skunky, earthy counterpoint to the vibrant berry notes, staying true to its assertive hop-driven intent. The fermentation remains clean, allowing the interplay of fruit and resin to dominate before a crisp, dryish finish. It is an expressive and balanced interpretation that pairs a contemporary, fluffy texture with the firm bitterness expected of the style.
Appearance. Medium gold (approx 6-8 SRM) with a luminescent, moderate haze. Features a medium-sized, white, persistent head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity with prominent tropical fruit notes of passionfruit and ripe strawberry. A secondary layer of dank, resinous, and slightly skunky pine provides depth. Low, clean, grainy maltiness from the oats and wheat supports the hops without competing.
Taste. Initial impression is hop-dominant, featuring intense tropical fruit and resinous spice. A firm bitterness (approx 50-60 IBU) is well-supported by a neutral, grainy malt character. The mid-palate offers strawberry and melon-like sweetness, leading to a dry, clean finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body with a noticeably fluffy and creamy texture from the high adjunct content. Moderate to high carbonation with a smooth, light warmth and no astringency.
