Blonde Ale 5 º 41 IBU
Abeja Zángano reimagines the Blonde Ale through a sophisticated British lens, presenting a brilliant gold pour with crystalline clarity. The foundation of Maris Otter Pale and Crystal malt provides a solid, biscuit-forward backbone enhanced by the smooth, creamy texture of Malted Naked oats. The hop profile is elegantly layered, featuring the classic floral notes of East Kent Goldings and Northdown alongside the distinctive dark fruit and spice nuances of Bramling Cross. A subtle addition of wheat ensures a clean, approachable structure, while the fermentation yields a light fruitiness that bridges the gap between traditional English character and modern sessionability.
Appearance. Deep gold (5 SRM) with brilliant, crystalline clarity. Pours with a moderate white head of fine bubbles and fair retention, leaving light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring bready and biscuity Maris Otter malt notes with a faint touch of honey-like sweetness from Crystal malt. The hop character is pronounced and floral, showcasing the earthy, spicy qualities of Northdown and East Kent Goldings, complemented by a subtle dark berry fruitiness from Bramling Cross. Clean fermentation profile with very low fruity esters.
Taste. Initial soft maltiness leads with flavors of toasted biscuit and a gentle grainy sweetness. The hop profile is sophisticated, delivering floral and herbal notes from the Northdown and East Kent Goldings, while Bramling Cross provides a faint fruity complexity. Bitterness is moderate and well-balanced, supporting the malt without overwhelming it. The finish is clean and medium-dry, leaving a lingering impression of honeyed grain and refined floral hops.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a notably smooth, slightly creamy texture derived from Malted Naked oats and wheat. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing a refreshing lift. No alcohol warmth is perceived.
