Cerveza Abeja's Abeja Reina reinvents the classic Weissbier by layering a modern, citrus-forward hop profile over a traditional base. Inspired by 18th-century recipes, historical European malts create a soft, bready foundation. The quintessential fermentation character is present, offering moderate banana esters and phenolic clove. However, this over-hopped interpretation introduces a vibrant American hop character, delivering distinct aromas of mandarin and grapefruit alongside floral notes. This surprising innovation results in a light, refreshing, and highly balanced beer. Appearance. SRM 3-5 (pale straw to gold). Opaque clarity with a significant haze from wheat proteins and suspended yeast. Features a thick, moussy, long-lasting white head with dense lacing.
