Abbeydale’s Outback delivers a vibrant sensory experience, reimagining the American IPA with a focus on high drinkability. The addition of maize provides a lean, crisp malt foundation that allows the punchy tropical character of Galaxy and Vic Secret hops to shine. Aromas of passionfruit and crushed pineapple are prominent, leading into a flavor profile rich with citrus zest and resinous pine. Despite its approachable strength, it maintains a firm, clean bitterness that defines the style. The result is a bright, refreshing ale where the hop-forward profile is balanced by a dry, quaffable finish and a clean, supporting grain character.

Appearance. Medium gold (SRM 6) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a moderate-sized, bright white head showing good persistence and fine lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical fruit notes of passionfruit and pineapple from Galaxy, alongside resinous pine and lime peel from Vic Secret. Low, clean, grainy-sweet maltiness persists in the background with a neutral fermentation profile.

Taste. Initial impression is crisp and hop-forward. Medium-high bitterness is clean, supported by a light, bready malt character. Hop flavors of mango, passionfruit, and crushed herbs are prominent throughout. The use of maize ensures a very clean, dry finish with a lingering, pleasant bitterness and a hint of citrus zest in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, lean texture. Moderate to high carbonation enhances the crisp, refreshing character. No alcohol warmth is detected, and the finish is free of astringency.
