This Belgian Tripel presents a brilliant golden hue crowned by a dense, persistent white head. The aroma is a sophisticated blend of lemon esters and peppery spiciness, layered over a foundation of grainy malt and a surprising hint of caramel and wood. On the palate, a complex four-grain bill featuring barley, wheat, white oats, and rye provides a rounded, cereal-forward texture. Despite its strength, the beer remains effervescent and approachable, balancing its initial honeyed sweetness with a firm, slightly bitter finish. It is a refined monastic-style ale where the fruitiness and subtle earthy wood notes integrate seamlessly into a clean, high-gravity profile.
Appearance. Brilliant gold (5–7 SRM). Large, creamy, rocky white head with excellent retention and characteristic Belgian lacing on the glass as it fades.
Aroma. Moderate-high intensity. Dominant citrusy esters of lemon alongside spicy, peppery phenols. Supporting malt notes of sweet cereal, light honey, and a faint touch of caramel. A subtle, clean woody aromatic presence.
Taste. Rich malt flavors of toasted grain and bread from the barley, wheat, and rye blend. Initial sweetness is tempered by spicy yeast phenols and a lemon-like fruitiness. Hop bitterness is firm and well-balanced with the high alcohol content. The finish is dry and crisp with a lingering, slightly bitter and woody aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with high, effervescent carbonation that creates a prickly sensation on the tongue. Alcohol provides a noticeable but well-integrated warmth. Smooth texture contributed by the white oats.
