This P4 rendition of a Berliner Weisse offers a high-intensity tropical sensory profile, heavily shaped by its slushy-style fruit additions. Leading with a pungent aroma of Passion fruit and sharp Pineapple, the nose is further softened by sweet, nectar-like notes of Peach and Papaya. The palate delivers a clean, sharp lactic sourness that provides the necessary structural balance to the dense fruit character. Underlying the tropical layers is a light, raw bread dough wheat malt flavor, characteristic of the style. Despite the elevated strength, the experience remains refreshingly tart, finishing with a lingering, exotic fruit complexity and a crisp, acidic snap.
Appearance. Opaque, golden-orange color (SRM 6-8) with a thick, pulpy consistency. A small, dense white head forms but shows poor retention, quickly subsiding to a thin ring with minimal lacing.
Aroma. High intensity fruit aroma dominated by tart pineapple and pungent passion fruit. Supporting notes of ripe papaya and sweet peach skin are prominent. A moderate sharply sour lactic character is present, alongside a light sourdough bread dough malt note. No hop aroma.
Taste. Clean, strong lactic sourness provides the initial impression, immediately followed by an explosion of pineapple and passion fruit flavors. The middle palate features the rounded, fleshy sweetness of papaya and peach. Hop bitterness is undetectable, with acidity providing the balance. A complementary doughy and grainy wheat flavor is noticeable beneath the fruit. The finish is very tart and fruit-forward with a lingering tropical aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a thick, creamy, and slightly viscous texture. Carbonation is moderate, lower than the traditional style. A light, subtle alcohol warmth is present, though well-integrated. No astringency.
