This classic West Coast IPA presents a punchy, resinous profile driven by a foundational trio of Chinook, Simcoe, and Centennial hops. The sensory experience is dominated by aggressive notes of fresh pine needles, pungent dankness, and zesty grapefruit rind. A clean, light-colored malt base provides a subtle toasted backbone without distracting from the hop intensity. Appearance. Brilliantly clear, deep gold color (approx. 8 SRM). Pours with a dense, persistent white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent pine resin and grapefruit zest from Chinook and Centennial, layered with the complex earthy, woodsy, and dank notes of Simcoe. Low, clean, bready malt presence with a neutral fermentation profile and no esters.
Taste. Bold hop flavors of resinous pine and citrus peel lead the palate. Medium-high to high bitterness is firm and clean, supported by a low, grainy malt character that provides a brief toasted hint. The finish is very dry and crisp with a long-lasting, resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily hop texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp bite. A light, pleasant alcohol warmth is present and well-integrated.
