Dark Forces is an imposing Double IPA that channels an intense tropical storm of hop character. Through a massive double dry-hopping of Galaxy, Citra, and Idaho 7, the sensory profile is dominated by layers of passionfruit, ripe peach, and bright grapefruit. A subtle resinous pine and black tea note from the Idaho 7 adds complexity to the aromatic profile. The 9% ABV provides a warming backbone to a velvety, hazy body that carries a soft, bready malt presence. The finish is remarkably smooth for its strength, leaving a lingering impression of tropical citrus and a clean, firm bitterness.

Appearance. 4-7 SRM. Pale gold to light orange with an opaque, hazy clarity. Features a thick, frothy white head with excellent retention and significant lacing.

Aroma. Intense hop aroma with prominent notes of passionfruit and peach from Galaxy, citrus and grapefruit from Citra, and a resinous, herbal pine character from Idaho 7. Background malt is low and neutral. Subtle fruity esters are present, alongside a smooth, clean alcohol note.

Taste. Initial hop-forward punch of tropical mango, citrus zest, and pineapple. Hop bitterness is moderately high but rounded and creamy rather than harsh. Low, soft bready malt flavor provides a neutral foundation. Finishes medium-dry with a long, lingering aftertaste of citrus resin and tropical fruit.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy, and creamy texture. Moderate carbonation. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present. Lacks any harsh hop-derived astringency.
