Kölsch 5.2 º 22 IBU
7Peaks Dent Jaune is a bright, refreshing Kölsch that captures the alpine clarity of its namesake peak. Poured a brilliant medium yellow, it opens with a delicate aroma of grainy-sweet Pilsner malt and a whisper of orchard fruit—specifically apple and pear—typical of its cool-fermented ale heritage. The palate is defined by a soft, rounded mouthfeel and harmonious flavors where bready malt notes meet a gentle floral and spicy noble hop presence. Balanced and exceptionally clean, it finishes dry and crisp without lingering bitterness, making it a quintessential sessionable blonde ale that prizes subtlety and elegance over intensity.
Appearance. Medium yellow to light gold (4 SRM) with brilliant, sparkling clarity. Topped with a delicate, fine-textured white head that displays moderate retention and light lacing.
Aroma. Low intensity and very clean. Subtle grainy-sweet malt presence with hints of fresh bread. Faint, pleasant esters of green apple and pear are complemented by a very low floral and spicy hop character.
Taste. Initial impression of neutral-grainy malt followed by a hint of bready sweetness that quickly transitions to a soft, dry finish. Hop bitterness is medium-low, providing just enough structure without being sharp. Flavors of spicy hops and light orchard fruit persist through the clean, slightly crisp aftertaste. Well-attenuated and harmonious.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a refreshing, lively prickle on the tongue. Highly attenuated and light, without any alcohol warmth or astringency.
