This Helles Bock presents a sophisticated interplay of rich continental malts and refined attenuation. The nose is invitingly malty, offering honeyed notes and a whisper of toasty Maillard character. On the palate, a robust core of baguette and crusty toasted bread is complemented by a unique walnut-like depth. While the body starts with a rounded, plush mouthfeel, the high carbonation and assertive attenuation ensure a crisp, dry finish. Subtle herbaceous hop notes provide a structured bitterness that balances the initial sweetness, resulting in a clean, strong lager that remains remarkably drinkable despite its strength.
Appearance. Deep gold to light amber (7–9 SRM) with brilliant clarity. It supports a large, creamy, and persistent white head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Moderate to strong intensity featuring grainy-sweet malt and light honey. Subtle toasted accents and a very faint hint of dark crust are present, alongside low herbal hop aromas and a clean fermentation profile devoid of esters.
Taste. Dominant flavors of fresh baguette and toasted bread crust with a distinct savory walnut quality. Initial malt sweetness is tempered by moderate hop bitterness. The finish is notably dry and clean with a lingering herbaceous hop character that provides excellent balance.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with an initially round, mouth-coating texture. Moderately high carbonation provides a lively sensation. Smooth and clean with no astringency and a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
