This Double New England IPA offers a vibrant, juicy profile driven by an intricate blend of Nelson Bliss, HBC 1019, Luminosa, and Nectaron hops. A voluptuous, pillowy body delivers an initial rush of ripe mango and pineapple, which evolves into nuanced layers of kiwi and apricot. A subtle touch of citrus zest adds brightness to the soft, rounded malt foundation. Despite the significant strength, the bitterness remains exceptionally low, ensuring a plush and approachable character. The saturated fruit profile of the hops persists long into the smooth, lingering finish, emphasizing its tropical essence.
Appearance. Gold to light orange-copper (SRM 6-9). Opaque and hazy appearance with a moderate-sized, persistent white head that leaves dense lacing.
Aroma. High intensity of tropical and stone fruit. Dominant mango and pineapple are layered with apricot and a hint of melon. A supportive, clean, bready malt presence sits in the background, complemented by a subtle, smooth alcohol note.
Taste. Strong and complex hop flavor featuring initial mango and pineapple, followed by kiwi and soft apricot. Mid-palate introduces a light citrus zest. Bitterness is very low for the style, balanced by a medium-low, soft malt sweetness. The finish is smooth and fruit-forward with a long, lingering hoppy aftertaste and no harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full body with a voluptuous, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, without any hop-derived astringency or solvent notes.
