This Red IPA showcases a vibrant mahogany hue, immediately releasing a tropical wave of aroma dominated by ripe mango and stone fruit from a heavy hand of American hops. The malt backbone provides a supportive foundation of light caramel and toasted bread, balancing the assertive bitterness with a subtle sweetness. At 6.3% ABV, it maintains a refreshing drinkability while delivering the punch of a Specialty IPA. The interplay between the resinous hop character and the specialty malts creates a complex, lingering finish that leaves a strong impression, making it both bold and highly approachable.
Appearance. Deep copper to reddish-brown (SRM 14-17). Clear with a slight haze. Off-white to light tan head that is moderate in size and shows persistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of mango, pineapple, and citrus. Moderate-low malt character provides a background of sweet caramel and toasted grain. Clean fermentation profile with very light fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward with intense mango and tropical fruit flavors. Malt provides a medium-low counterpoint of toffee and caramel sweetness without being cloying. Medium-high bitterness is firm but not harsh. The finish is off-dry with a lingering bitterness and a light, clean toasted malt aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth texture. Moderate to high carbonation provides a refreshing quality. Light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but subtle. No astringency.
