Appearance. Jet black (30-40 SRM); opaque. Large, compact, tan head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity roast reminiscent of dark chocolate and coffee. Low dark fruit esters (raisin, plum). Subtle, clean alcohol presence and very low earthy hop notes.
Taste. Initial impression of rich roasted malts, delivering flavors of cocoa and espresso without harshness. Moderate to high bitterness provides balance against a creamy, roasty sweetness. Finishes moderately dry with a lingering chocolate aftertaste.
