The old lambik that we used — brewed in the first days of 2018 — comes from two small 400-litre barrels that we found to be gently oxidative. The weighted average age of this blend upon bottling was eighteen months.."

"For this particular blend of Oude Geuze Cuvée Armand & Gaston, we selected lambikken from four different barrels and five different brews. The blend consists of 60% oude lambikken, bringing the weighted average age upon bottling to more than 21 months. The oldest lambikken were brewed in April 2019 and that same lambik aged for more than a year on a freshly emptied Oloroso barrel. That barrel comes from the last bodega of Josefa Perez Rosado, near the Church of Santiago in Jerez De La Frontera. Two thirds of the combined total grain bill was sourced with our Pajottenland Cereal Collective, and half of the blend is organic. The hops used were 18 years old on average. Bottle count: 639."

Instead of releasing them after minimum six months of bottle conditioning, the vintage series have been cellared for at least three years up to even five years and longer before being released. For an Oude Geuze to become a Vintage, it features characteristics that are unique, sometimes surprising or outspoken.

Deze specifieke Cuvée Armand & Gaston werd geassembleerd met lambikken van acht verschillende vaten en maar liefst tien verschillende brouwsels. In de assemblage werd wat eigen geïmkerde zomerhoning toegevoegd. De oudste lambik werd gebrouwen aan het begin van seizoen 16|17, dus eind 2016. Eén van de lambikken werd trouwens gebrouwen met verse Coigneau hop, een lokaal “lambik”ras.

This Cuvée Armand & Gaston was blended with lambik from eight different barrels and no less than ten different brews. Some of our own harvested summer 2019 honey was added to this blend. The oldest lambik was brewed at the end of 2016. One of the lambikken was brewed with fresh Coigneau hops, a local “lambik” variety. This blend has aged for over a year at the time of this release.

This particular Cuvée Armand & Gaston has been blended with lambics from four different barrels and originating from five different brews. The oldest lambik was brewed on April 24th 2015 which results in an average age of 23 months.

NL - Twaalf keer een gerijpte Geuze We selecteerden vijf verschillende assemblages van het nobelste aller bieren; Geuze! En die flessen legden we dan nog eens voor minstens één jaar, tot zelfs meer dan drie jaar opzij.

Dit pakket bevat twee Oude Geuze Cuvée Armand & Gaston Vintage-flessen uit 2019. Deze zijn assemblages waarbij we bij proefsessies een bijzonder, zelfs uitzonderlijk bewaarpotentieel ontwaren en beslissen om de flessen dan ook minstens drie jaar bij ons verder te laten rijpen vooraleer we ze laten uitkomen. We hebben dat niet elk jaar kunnen doen – er is immers veel plaats voor nodig – maar dit jaar hebben we er dus twee! Sinds 1998 gebruiken we als etiket ook meestal een werk de Nachtlichten-reeks van Felix de Boeck. In ruil daarvoor gaat dan weer een deel van de prijs naar de ondersteuning van de vereniging die het culturele legaat van De Boeck beschermt. In deze Cuvée Armand & Gaston Vintage 2019 overtuigden de noten van limoen en sesam, de algehele zachtheid en kruidige toetsen ons van zijn langertermijnbewaringspotentieel.

Daarnaast bevat het pakket ook drie flessen van de Oude Geuze Cuvée Armand & Gaston; assemblage 60 van seizoen 19|20, gebotteld in maart 2020. Deze blend rijpte dus al bijna vier jaar verder bij ons en onderscheidt zich door zijn levendige pareling en oxidatieve toetsen.

Een iets jongere botteling van eind 2022 is de Oude Geuze blend 10, geassembleerd met lambikken gebrouwen door brouwerij Lindemans en ons zelf. Alle gebruikte granen voor de 3 Fonteinen lambikken komen uit ons eigen Granennetwerk. Een aangename licht bittere toets kenmerkt deze botteling.

Ook voegden we twee flessen Golden Blend aan het pakket toe, waarvoor de oudste gebruikte vijf jaar oude lambik bijna 40% van de blend uitmaakt, begin 2017 gebrouwen.

Tot slot bevat het pakket twee flessen Platinum Blend; assemblage 57 van seizoen 21|22. we blendden lambikken afkomstig van maar liefst negen verschillende 3 Fonteinen brouwsels. We gebruikten lambikken van één, twee en vier jaar oud, in een verhouding van 27/30/43, en voegden voor botteling vers gebrouwen wort toe.

Dankzij onze grote, schone bibliotheek van (uitsluitend) flessen kunnen we steeds putten uit een uitgebreide selectie van telkens unieke lambikassemblages. Daarom lanceren we, enkel via onze webshop, graag al eens nieuwe pakketten met zowel geliefde klassiekers als meer beperkte flessen.

EN - Twelve times an aged Geuze We selected five different blends of the noblest of all beers: Geuze! And then we put those bottles away in our cellars for at least one year, and even more than three years.

This package contains two Oude Geuze (Cuvée Armand & Gaston Vintage bottles from 2019. These are blends in which we perceive a special, even exceptional ageing potential during our tasting sessions, and decide to let the bottles mature for at least three years with us before their release. We have not been able to do that every year – it takes a lot of space – but this year we have two! Since 1998 we also usually use the ‘Nachtlichten’-series by Felix de Boeck as a label. In return, part of the proceeds goes to supporting the non-profit organisation that protects De Boeck's cultural heritage. In the Cuvée Armand & Gaston Vintage 2019, the notes of lime and sesame, the overall softness and spicy zing indicated its longer-term preservation potential.

In addition, the package also contains two bottles of the Oude Geuze Cuvée Armand & Gaston; blend 60 of season 19|20. This blend thus matured almost four years at 3 Fonteinen, and it distinguished itself by its lively carbonation and oxidative notes.

A slightly younger bottling from the end of 2022 is the Oude Geuze blend 10, blended with lambikken brewed by brewery Lindemans and ourselves. All cereals used for the 3 Fonteinen lambikken come from our own Cereal Collective. A pleasant slightly bitter touch characterizes this bottling.

We also added two bottles of Golden Blend to the package; of which the oldest used five-year-old lambik makes up almost 40% of the blend, brewed in early 2017.

Finally, the package contains two bottles of Platinum Blend; blend 57 of season 21|22. we blended lambikken from no fewer than nine different 3 Fonteinen brews. We used lambikken of one, two and four years old, in a ratio of 27/30/43, and added freshly brewed wort before bottling.

Thanks to our large beautiful bottle(-only) library, we can always select unique lambic blends from a vast selection. That is why, now and then, we release, only through our webshop, new packs with both beloved classics as well as more limited bottles.
