The use of PEI-grown barley provides a delicate, clean grainy foundation, while New Brunswick whole-leaf hops offer a whisper of herbal and floral nuance. This American Light Lager pours a brilliant, pale straw with exceptional clarity and a frothy white head. Designed for maximum crushability, the palate is ultra-crisp and neutral, benefiting from the beautifully soft water of Halifax. It finishes bone-dry with a lively carbonation that cleanses the palate, making it a quintessential thirst-quencher for any occasion.
Appearance. Brilliant, pale straw color (2 SRM). Very clear with a white, frothy head that has low persistence and leaves minimal lacing.
Aroma. Low intensity with a clean fermentation profile. Delicate notes of grainy-sweet malt from the PEI barley are primary, complemented by a very faint herbal and floral hop presence from New Brunswick whole-leaf hops. No esters or diacetyl.
Taste. Initial impression is neutral and highly refreshing. A light, grainy malt flavor leads into a very low bitterness. The hop character is nearly imperceptible, with just a hint of herbal spice. Finishes very clean and dry with a crisp, short aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Light body with a watery texture. Very high carbonation provides a distinct carbonic bite on the tongue. Alcohol warmth is absent, and the finish is notably smooth and soft.
