This Imperial Stout presents a sophisticated sensory profile defined by a robust interplay of high kilned malts and premium British caramel malts. The aroma is dominated by intense espresso and bittersweet chocolate, lifted by the earthy, rich character of Cacao Nibs added during the mash. On the palate, a firm roasted bitterness is balanced by deep toffee and dark fruit notes from the specialty British grains. The addition of nibs ensures a silky chocolate touch that persists through the finish. At 8.5% ABV, the beer exhibits a well-integrated alcohol warmth that complements its dense, complex malt architecture and lingering, roasty aftertaste.
Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40 SRM). Pours with a thick, creamy, deep tan head that shows good retention and leaves persistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity of roasted grain, reminiscent of dark chocolate and burnt coffee. Supporting notes of toffee, raisins, and plums from British caramel malts. A clean, earthy cocoa aroma from Cacao Nibs is prominent, with a subtle, smooth alcohol presence.

High kilned malts provide a sharp, clean bitterness that prevents the malt from being cloying. The finish is silky and chocolate-forward, with a long, dry, roasted aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and chewy with a velvety, silky texture. Carbonation is moderate. A smooth, gentle alcohol warmth is noticeable but lacks any harshness or solvent qualities.
