Delirium Christmas ist ein belgisches Starkbier mit einem Alkoholgehalt von 10%, so wird es einem entsprechend warm von innen heraus wenn draußen der erste Schnee fällt.
Kastanienfarben bis fuchsrot zeigt sich das weihnachtliche belgische Bier im Glas, ein cremefarbener großer Schaum lässt beim Anblick sofort das Herz ein bis zwei Takte schneller schlagen. Die belgische Hefe bringt in der Nase fruchtige Aromen zum Vorschein, roter Apfel und Gewürznoten kann man riechen, diese werden von Karamell und Toffee unterstrichen. Der Geschmack ist malzdominiert und zeigt auch klare Flavours von Karamell und Toffee, im Hintergrund zeigen sich angenehme fruchtige Noten von Kirschen und roten Beeren. Der fruchtig malzige Aromenmix begleitet bis weit in den Abgang und wird gegen Ende von einem leichten Gewürzhauch unterstrichen. Ein schönes wärmendes Gefühl in der Kehle zeigt den hohen Alkoholgehalt und bringt das gewünschte wärmende Gefühl zur kalten Jahreszeit.

О пивоварне Huyghe-Brouwerij:
Пивоварением в бельгийском городке Аппелхук начали заниматься еще в 1654 году. Местный пивоваренный завод стала прародителем будущей знаменитой пивоварни Хёйге. В 1906 году завод выкупил поселившийся здесь Леон Хёйге и переименовал ее в "Brouwerij-Mouterij den Appel". После Первой Мировой войны заводу потребовалась реконструкция, и Леон Хёйге принял решение о строительстве нового здания для пивоварни, в котором завод находится до сих пор. Обновление коснулось и внутреннего обустройства (старинный варочный цех до сих пор является предметом гордости пивоварни), и смены названия — в 1938 году оно было заменено на "Leon Huyghe Ltd".
Первым пивом, принесшим успех пивоварне, стал лагер "Золотая Кения", завоевавший многочисленные награды и титулы. С 1948 года пивоварня стала выпускать воду и лимонад под маркой "Mell's Drinks".
В 60-е годы пивоварня существенно расширяет свое производство, запускает современную линию бутылочного розлива и новый сорт пива — "Eigerbrau". 70-е годы внесли свои корректировки в маркетинговую политику пивоварни: переориентация с пабов и мелких торговцев пивом на крупные учреждения (рестораны, учреждения социального обслуживания, железные дороги и т.д.), где пивоварня могла предоставлять весь спектр своей продукции — от пива до лимонадов.
Реструктуризация компании сопровождалась значительными финансовыми инвестициями, что привело к переориентированию на выпуск различных сортов пива верхового брожения. К концу 80-х годов в линейке завода появились "Delirium Tremens" и "La Guillotine". В 1992 году было основано "Братство розового слона" ("Confrerie of the pink Elephant"), задачей которого стало продвижение пива под маркой "Делириум" и других сортов пива. Также пивоварня Хёйге выкупила пивоваренный завод "Кампус", монастырские пивоварни "Св. Идесбальд", "Вьей Вийерс" и "Дами". В 1993 году вышла в свет линейка фруктовых ламбиков "Флорис".
2000-й год стал годом проведения масштабных работ по реконструкции предприятия, обновления мощностей и установке новых резервуаров для брожения. Постоянное расширение экспортного рынка и значительное увеличение продаж достигло сказочной отметки объема производства в 100 000 гектолитров.

Taste is similar to aroma and also includes toffee, plum, and red wine with notes of pepper and bitter hops.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied and creamy smooth thanks to generous and lively carbonation; the 10.0% ABV is well hidden, and the finish is lingering, spicy, and dry.
