In 1984 sloegen enkele drankenhandelaars uit de Antwerpse en Limburgse Kempen de handen in elkaar. Ze richtten een aankoopvereniging met hoofdzetel nu te Lommel op. Na de fusie met een West- en Oost-Vlaamse drankengroepering werd Prik&Tik veruit de grootste aankoopvereniging in België. Prik’ staat voor koolzuurhoudend, ‘Tik’ voor alcohol. Prik&Tik voor de twee.
