En el siglo séptimo, un monje irlandés llamado Feuillien llegó al continente a predicar el Evangelio. Por desgracia, en el año 655, mientras viajaba por el territorio de lo que hoy es la ciudad de Le Roeulx, Feuillien fue martirizado y decapitado. En el sitio de su martirio, los discípulos de Feuillien erigieron una capilla que en 1125 se convirtió en la abadía de Prémontrés, pero más tarde se conoció como la Abadía de St- Feuillien du Roeulx. La abadía prosperó hasta las convulsiones de la Revolución Francesa, cuando los revolucionarios la cerraron.
Durante siglos, los monjes han elaborado cerveza y esta tradición se ha conservado hasta hoy en dia.
Cuarta generación de cerveceros en la familia Friart pero aún la misma pasión y saber hacer.
