"Motley Cru" here has a double meaning - we ourselves are an eclectic group, but "cru" is also a traditional beer term for blend (we love word play).The common thread across all of the Motleys we've released since the beginning of Bellwoods, is threefold:1. The release must be a blend,2. The blend must utilize oak aged beer, and3. The oak aged beer must be older than a year.Our 2025 edition features a blend of spontaneous wild ales conditioned on Gamay grapes and purple plums. It smells like dark cherries and earthy moss, tastes like tart stone fruit, goose berry and cassis, and drinks like a spritzy, dry natural wine with oaky tannic vibes.It's tart, dry, fruity yet sour, and a once-a-year opportunity to get sappy.
