Пиво "Augustiner" Dunkel гармонично сочетается с блюдами немецкой кухни, сырами, салатами, свининой, рыбой, морепродуктами.
О производителе Augustiner Dunkel Августинер (Augustiner) – вот истинное пиво Мюнхена. Это не просто пиво, произведенное старейшей городской пивоварней - это мюнхенская душа. А душа, как известно, не продается. Если вы ценитель пива то пивоварня Августинер (Augustiner) это обязательный пункт посещения в Мюнхене. Пиво практически не экспортируется за пределы Мюнхена. Даже в Баварии его не везде можно найти, а чем дальше, тем меньше вероятность его встретить. В Берлине, к примеру, Augustiner большая редкость, а уж в России найти это пиво вообще большая удача. Хозяева бренда считают, что их продукт не нуждается в дополнительной рекламе и категорически против каких-либо рекламных акций. Кроме того, пиво производится в ограниченном количестве и наращивать его производство не собираются.

Но почему именно Августинер называют душой Мюнхена? Во-первых, это старейшая пивоварня города, где пиво варят с 1328 года. Первоначально варили монахи-августинцы, откуда и пошло название.

Во-вторых, Августинер действительно варят традиционным способом. Ячмень только местный, солод готовят сами, по старинке, так называемым токовым солодоращением. Токовое – это означает, что в подвалах пивоварни замоченное предварительно отборное ячменное зерно рассыпается тонким слоем для проращивания. Рассыпается не на бетонный пол или еще куда, а на плиты из особого зольнхофенского мрамора. Обычно его используют как отделочный материал для эксклюзивных безделушек с правильными ценами. На току зерно регулярно разрыхляется, вручную, разумеется. На современных пивоварнях этот процесс повсеместно механизирован, там солод проращивают в больших вращающихся металлических барабанах. Скучно, практично и дешево.

Сваренное пиво разливают в настоящие дубовые бочки. Так делает только Августинер, все остальные мюнхенские пивоварни давно льют свою продукцию в алюминиевые кеги. Ну и последнее, Августинер - это последняя в Мюнхене пивоварня, которая не «продалась» иностранным холдингам. Есть еще правда Хофбройхаус, но он принадлежит государству, за ним все ресурсы Германии. This Augustinerbräu München Dunkel is not as dark as I expected, it's the same colour as British bitter but there the similarity ends. It's a lot stronger than most British beers at 5.6%. There is no cloying sweetness and no spent yeast in the bottle to avoid getting in your glass, a sure sign that the beer has not undergone secondary fermentation in the bottle - but then German beers seldom do, I think. I'm not often a German beer drinker, I generally prefer Belgian brews, but this is an excellent dark beer.
