But probably not many are aware, that Peach Melba was originally a desert created by the famous French chef Escoffier in 1892 to honor the Australian soprano Nellie Melba. Tasting Notes: Containing very ripe peaches on vanilla ice cream, and later modified with the addition of sweetened raspberry purée.
