Based on the beautiful Mendip Hills of Somerset, Yonder is a Modern Farmhouse Brewery. But what does that mean and why does it make the beer they brew so special? Read on to find out more...
Founded in 2018 by Jasper Tupman and Stuart Winstone; two brewing professionals with 20 years of craft beer experience, Yonder was created by a shared passion for flavour, fermentation and fun. The story began on a shoe-string when the duo invested everything they had to move in to their new home at Rookery Farm; a repurposed farm site which now hosts an array of independent businesses, a stones-throw from the UK’s smallest city; Wells. From here they started creating innovatively flavourful brews on their second-hand brew kit.
But the story has progressed significantly since then. Having since been joined by another craft beer veteran, Head Brewer David Williams, the team have gone from strength to strength. With a 300% capacity expansion in 2022, the team is now six people strong and the beers are enjoyed throughtout the UK, Europe... and beyond!
Yonder’s innovative approach to beer has been the key to this success. Experts in mixed fermentation and flavour, the team have stayed ahead of the curve, with their finger on the pulse in terms of trends. Whilst they brew a wide range of styles, from classic lagers and ales, to modern IPA’s and sours, each has that unique, Yonder stamp of creativity; always with a focus on flavour.
Heavily fruited beers such as Raspberry Gose, a mainstay on the production rota since 2019, have really defined Yonder’s output. On the back of the success of Raspberry Gose, fruit has been a real focus for the brewing team, who release several specials and one-offs each month, often selling out batches within the space of weeks.
