De color dorado profundo con una espuma compacta, aunque no muy abundante, típico del estilo. Cerveza exquisita, sabrosa y refrescante que es considerada una de las mejores de Gran Bretaña. Intenso aroma y sabor a lúpulo muy balanceado con el tradicional sabor a amlta de las cervezas de caledonian

La cerveza Old Engine Oil es una porter de perseverante suavidad, de 6% de alcohol.

El chocolate domina el sabor, pero el lúpulo amargo se compensa con una sabor dulce. Old Engine Oil es perfecta para después de comer con un agradable final agridulce.

Ken Brooker, fundador de Harviestoun, trabajó en su juventud elaborando modelos en madera para la compañía automovilística Ford.

La naturaleza viscosa de esta cerveza recuerda a aceite de motor de coche. Se puede consumir con Carnes a la brasa, queso Camembert y postres con chocolate.
