This unfiltered special edition commemorates the long tradition of our Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier: On July 23rd 1635 the first smoke-free malt drying machine was patented. Subsequently smoke free beers became dominant and smoked beer turned into a rare specialty. Only in Bamberg the traditional smoke kiln was preserved continuously until today: At Schlenkerla the open fire still burns in the maltings.
