he brewery was founded in 2005 by four home brewers who wanted to make high quality beers. In 2016 two of the original founders retired, and the brewery is today owned by a constellation of the two remaining founders, some employees at the brewery and three other Norwegian craft breweries.
Haandbryggeriet currently has 10 employees all participating in developing new ground breaking beers and recipes.
The brewery has a wide selection ranging from classic and traditional beers to new and innovative brews and hybrid beer styles. Sometimes brewed with local and Nordic ingredients such as cherries, sea buckthorn, raspberries, and lingonberries. Haandbryggeriet has since 2005 also made high quality sours and barrel aged beers such as porters and Christmas beers.

Desde sus humildes inicios en 2005 en una antigua fábrica de medias de 1874, hemos recorrido un largo camino. En diciembre de 2011 nos mudamos a un local más amplio, todavía de principios de 1900, pero más adaptado a nuestras necesidades. Alguna vez fue uno de los edificios de los talleres para los ferrocarriles.
Hemos creado una nueva cerveza para celebrar el movimiento, incorporando el nombre de la zona Sundlandveien y el conservante negro y pesado que se utiliza en las traviesas, la creosota.
Ahora tenemos espacio para más y más grandes tanques que nos permite duplicar nuestra producción, pero todavía aspiramos a elaborar cervezas artesanales como lo hacemos desde 2005.
Este estilo Old Ale que hacemos es muy prometedor, y está lleno de ingredientes locales de Suecia y Noruega.
