Bourbon County Brand Stout 2019 van Goose Island is waarschijnlijk het meest populaire barrel aged bier ter wereld. Dat komt doordat zij ooit begonnen zijn met het serieus vatrijpen van bieren op whiskyvaten. Vroeger werd bier wel opgeslagen in houten vaten, maar dat werd niet gedaan voor de smaak die het vat afgeeft. Goose Island heeft hun bier destijds gerijpt op Maker's Mark bourbon vaten omdat andere bourbon leverancier hun vaten niet wilden afstaan. Tegenwoordig zullen dat allerlei vaten zijn. Het bier is mooi geroosterd van karakter en rijk van smaak met veel vanille en bourbon tonen. De afdronk blijft lang hangen en hij is zoet zonder te zoet te zijn. Echt een prachtig barrel aged bier! LET OP, MAXIMAAL 2 FLESSEN PER PERSOON!

Barrel-aged for an average of 12 months, Bourbon County Original Stout boasts deeply developed flavors of fudge, vanilla and caramelized sugar with a rich, decadent mouthfeel.
