Utilizing a house lager yeast for a remarkably clean fermentation, the base beer showcases a complex layering of six distinct malts that manifest as rich caramel, toffee, and deep dark chocolate. Seven months in bourbon barrels introduces elegant top notes of creamy vanilla and toasted coconut, softening the edges of the 9.3% ABV. The result is a smooth, warming experience where the rich maltiness and dark fruit esters harmonize with the oak-derived sweetness, finishing with a gentle, lingering sweetness.
Appearance. Deep, opaque dark brown with ruby highlights at the edges. Crowns with a thick, persistent, tan-colored head that leaves fine lacing. Brilliant clarity is visible in the highlights.
Aroma. High intensity aroma of rich maltiness, featuring prominent notes of toffee, caramel, and a hint of dark chocolate. The barrel influence is clear, offering fragrant vanilla and coconut.
