Viven Ale is a quintessential Belgian Pale Ale, crafted as a refined Spéciale Belge with an approachable yet deep sensory profile. The pour reveals a shimmering golden amber hue beneath a dense, white foam. The aromatic bouquet is dominated by expressive fruity esters of pear and citrus, layered over a soft, bready malt foundation. On the palate, Goldings hops provide a delicate herbal counterpoint to the sweetness of peach and apricot. The malt character is smooth and slightly toasty, evolving into a gentle, lingering bitterness. Its medium-light body and lively carbonation ensure a crisp, refreshing finish that remains accessible and elegant.
Appearance. Golden amber (10-12 SRM). Excellent clarity with a brilliant shimmer. Large, rocky white head with very good retention and fine lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity. Dominated by bready, biscuity, and slightly toasty malt notes. Significant fruity esters suggesting pear, orange, and subtle stone fruit. Low spicy and herbal hop character from Goldings.
Taste. Initial soft, honeyed malt flavor with biscuity nuances. Medium-high fruitiness featuring apricot, peach, and pear esters. Moderate bitterness provides balance against the malt. Finishes balanced with a lingering, clean, fruity aftertaste and delicate herbal hop notes.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, approachable palate. Moderate to medium-high carbonation creates a lively mouth-coating sensation. Very low alcohol warmth, well-integrated at 5% ABV.
