This decadent Imperial Stout presents an opulent sensory journey, merging the robust backbone of roasted malts with the exotic, gingerbread and cinnamon-like spice of Amburana wood spirals. A specialized liquid cacao blend provides a profound dark chocolate depth, further smoothed by a velvety addition of lactose. The result is a dessert-like profile reminiscent of custard and spiced cake, where the high alcohol provides a structural warmth rather than heat. Dark fruit esters of raisin and plum emerge through the layers of bittersweet cocoa and fragrant wood, finishing with a lingering, creamy richness and a subtle, aromatic spice.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40 SRM). Pours with a dense, persistent dark tan head that leaves thick lacing. High viscosity is apparent through noticeable legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by rich dark chocolate and aromatic Amburana wood, which contributes notes of tonka bean, cinnamon, and vanilla. Behind the wood and cacao are deep roasted notes of espresso and charred grain, complemented by dark fruit esters like dried figs and a lactose-driven sweet creaminess.

Taste. Bold and multifaceted. Initial flavors of bittersweet chocolate and spicy Amburana (woodsy cinnamon, clove) transition into a mid-palate of creamy vanilla custard and espresso. The bitterness is moderate, providing enough balance against the residual sweetness of the lactose and heavy malt bill. Notes of black cherry and prune emerge in the middle. The finish is long and luxurious, with a harmonious blend of spice, cocoa, and warming alcohol.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and chewy with a luscious, velvety texture enhanced by lactose. Carbonation is low to moderate. A smooth, gentle alcohol warmth is present, consistent with its high strength, but remains well-integrated without being harsh.
