This assertive Double India Pale Ale delivers a saturated sensory experience through a heavy double dry-hop addition of Citra, Amarillo, and Cashmere. The aroma is an explosive bouquet of ruby red grapefruit and zesty lime, layered with the melon and subtle peach notes characteristic of the hop blend. On the palate, Citra provides a punch of tropical fruit while Amarillo contributes a classic floral citrus depth, all supported by a clean, neutral malt backbone. Despite its strength, the beer maintains high drinkability with a firm, resinous bitterness and a smooth, warming finish that highlights its modern hop-forward intensity.
Appearance. Poured a pale gold to light orange (SRM 7) with a dense, persistent white head that leaves intricate lacing. Exhibits a soft, uniform haze consistent with modern dry-hopping techniques.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, tangerine, and ripe melon. A subtle coconut and stone fruit character is present alongside a very low, neutral grainy malt background. Fermentation is clean with only minimal, supportive fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a wave of citrus and tropical fruit flavors, specifically orange peel and peach. Hop bitterness is high but remains smooth and free of harshness. Low, unobtrusive malt character provides a soft support without adding sweetness. The finish is dry with a lingering, clean resinous aftertaste and a hint of smooth alcohol.
