Dance First is a contemporary American Pale Ale that showcases the innovative marriage of Motueka hops and thiolised yeast technology. This synergy elevates the classic zesty lime and lemon peel profile of the Motueka hops, transforming them into a concentrated burst of tropical fruit, including notes of passionfruit and guava. A lean, crackery malt base provides a crisp foundation that stays out of the way, allowing the heightened hop aromatics to shine. The finish is remarkably clean and dry, punctuated by a refreshing bitterness and a lingering citrus brightness that defines this modern, fruit-forward interpretation of the style.

Appearance. Pale golden (5 SRM) with a moderately large, bright white head that shows good retention and leaves delicate lacing on the glass. Generally clear, though a very slight, luminious haze may be present from the dry hopping.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent lime zest, grapefruit, and exotic tropical notes of passionfruit and guava. The malt character is low and neutral, reminiscent of fresh grain or white bread, providing a clean backdrop for the intense hop-derived thiols.

Taste. Initial impression is hop-forward with bright lime and tropical fruit flavors dominating. Malt flavor is low, providing a neutral, bready support. Bitterness is moderate, providing a clean counterpoint to the fruity esters. The finish is medium-dry and clean, with a lingering citrus and tropical fruit aftertaste that avoids any harshness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with moderate to high carbonation that enhances the beer's crisp, refreshing quality. Overall smooth mouthfeel with no alcohol warmth and zero astringency.
