This bold Double IPA is a sensory assault of resinous intensity, crafted to evoke the experience of a bitter pine forest. Deeply saturated with pungent, evergreen hop notes, the profile is defined by an aggressive but clean bitterness that commands the palate. A subtle, neutral malt backbone provides just enough structure to support the 8% ABV without intruding on the lupulin-heavy focus. The finish is decisively dry and lingering, emphasizing a sharp, resinous hop character that resonates with the brewer’s intent for a potent, pine-centric experience. It is a powerful expression of American hop influence, delivering a high-impact, resin-slicked journey.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper in color with good clarity. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with fine-textured lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by pungent pine needles, resinous sap, and a backing of citrus zest. Supportive, clean, neutral-grainy maltiness sits far in the background. A very light fruity fermentation character is present, alongside a subtle, clean alcohol note.
Taste. An immediate impact of intense pine and resinous hop flavor. Bitterness is very high but clean, avoiding harshness. The malt character is low, providing a neutral, soft base that allows the hops to dominate. Finishes very dry and crisp with a long-lingering, resinous bitterness and a touch of smooth alcohol.
Mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with a smooth, slightly resin-slicked texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively prickle. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth is present, without any harsh hop-derived astringency.
