The primary impact is an intensely deep marriage of roasted grains and the complex influence of eighteen months in bourbon barrels. One perceives immense layers of bittersweet chocolate, espresso, and black licorice, harmonized with the spicy vanillins and toasted oak of the wood. The high alcohol provides a smooth, integrated warmth that supports a decadent palate of dried figs and raisins. It concludes with a long, velvety finish that highlights the spirit-forward maturity and mystery of the blend, promising continued evolution with age.
Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM); pours with a dense, creamy, deep tan head that exhibits moderate retention and leaves viscous, oily legs on the glass side.
