Logical Conjunction is a monumental Imperial Stout showcasing a masterclass in barrel blending. A collaboration with Bottle Logic, this beer offers a deep, multi-layered experience driven by extended aging in Elijah Craig 12-year bourbon, Graton and Rittenhouse rye, and port barrels. Intense aromas of dark chocolate and espresso meld with the vinous depth of the port and the spicy grain character of the rye. On the palate, expect a luxurious flood of vanilla and oak from the bourbon barrels, complemented by notes of dried figs and black currants. The high alcohol provides a smooth, integrated warmth that lingers alongside a rich, bittersweet cocoa finish.
Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40+ SRM). It pours with a thick, dense, dark tan head that shows moderate retention, leaving a viscous film and prominent legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex bouquet of roasted espresso, bittersweet chocolate, and molasses. The barrel influence is profound, contributing layers of vanilla and toasted oak from the Elijah Craig barrels, peppery spice and leather from the Graton and Rittenhouse rye, and a distinct vinous, dark fruit character resembling raisins and plums from the port barrels.
Taste. An intense initial impression of fudge and charred grain. Rich malt flavors of dark chocolate and toffee are balanced by a firm bitterness. The rye barrels provide a balancing spicy grain character, while the port adds layers of jammy blackberries and dried cherries. The finish is long and complex, fading into a bittersweet harmony of bourbon-soaked wood and roasted malt.
Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied and chewy with a thick, velvety, and luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, providing just enough lift to the heavy body. A significant but smooth and well-integrated alcohol warmth is present throughout.
