Enthaiced is a decadent Imperial American Brown Ale that reimagines Thai iced tea through a luxurious, high-gravity lens. A robust base of chocolate and toasted malts is transformed by the addition of fragrant chai tea, providing an aromatic bouquet of cardamom, ginger, and clove. Dulce de leche and vanilla create a silky, confectionery sweetness that rounds out the spice profile, mimicking the creamy texture of condensed milk. At 13.9% ABV, the beer offers a significant, well-integrated warmth. The result is a complex, dessert-like experience where the earthy bitterness of the tea and dark malts find perfect harmony with indulgent layers of caramel and spice.
Appearance. Deep mahogany to dark brown (35 SRM) with brilliant ruby highlights. Pours with a thin, light tan head that recedes quickly to a fine collar, leaving oily legs on the glass indicative of the high alcohol content.
Aroma. High intensity. Bold notes of cinnamon, cardamom, and clove from the chai tea lead, followed by rich dulce de leche sweetness and creamy vanilla. The malt provides a sturdy backbone of toasted bread, dark chocolate, and roasted nuts, with very low hop presence and subtle fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression is a wave of creamy caramel and vanilla, quickly followed by the sharp, earthy complexity of chai spices. A deep malty richness provides flavors of cocoa and toasted walnuts. Hop bitterness is moderate-low but provides necessary structure to prevent the dulce de leche from becoming cloying. The finish is long and warming, with lingering notes of spiced tea and sweet cream.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a rich, creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Significant alcohol warmth is present but smooth and well-integrated. Minimal astringency despite the tea additions.
