This Australian Sparkling Ale delivers a refreshing, highly carbonated profile balanced by a soft bready malt foundation. The showcase of Citra hops introduces vibrant layers of citrus and light tropical notes, which intertwine seamlessly with the style's characteristic pome fruit esters of pear and apple. At 5.2% ABV, it presents a medium-bodied feel that remains crisp and highly attenuated. The finish is notably dry, allowing a firm, clean bitterness to linger. Effervescent and bright, this ale bridges traditional sparkling character with a modern American hop twist, providing a lively and quenching sensory experience.
Appearance. Medium gold with deep yellow highlights; features a tall, frothy, persistent white head and high effervescence. Typically exhibits brilliant clarity unless the yeast is intentionally roused for a cloudy pour.
Aroma. Moderate intensity with a clean, bready malt base. The Citra hops provide distinct citrus and tropical accents that complement a moderate yeast-derived ester profile of pear and red apple, with a subtle mineral quality.
Taste. Initial bready and grainy malt sweetness quickly gives way to a medium-high bitterness. The Citra hop flavor adds citrus zest and light resinous notes, finishing very dry and crisp with a lingering, clean bitterness and no caramel flavors.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a very high, spritzy carbonation that provides a mouth-filling, gassy carbonic bite. Highly attenuated and smooth, with a subtle, well-integrated alcohol presence.
