Stigbergets Bryggeri

Albatross presents as a quintessential Hazy IPA, balancing a substantial, heavy presence with surprising grace. At 7% ABV, it radiates an intense sensory profile of tropical and stone fruits, supported by a neutral, grainy malt backbone that ensures the hops remain the primary focus. This beer avoids the sharp edges of traditional IPAs, instead offering a smooth, soft texture and a restrained bitterness that highlights juicy citrus notes. The result is a highly expressive and aromatic experience that carries its weight effortlessly, finishing with a clean, fruit-forward persistence that captures the essence of a well-crafted New England style ale.

Appearance. Straw to light amber (4-6 SRM) with a deep, opaque haze and a luminous shine. It supports a tall, rocky, meringue-like white head with exceptional retention and intricate lacing.

Aroma. High intensity aromatics dominated by ripe mango, passion fruit, and bright citrus zest. A clean, bready, and lightly grainy malt character provides a subtle foundation. Fermentation esters are fruity and well-integrated with the hop profile, showing no acidic or buttery notes.

Taste. The initial impression is an explosion of juicy tropical fruit and stone fruit flavors. Low to medium-low bready malt sweetness balances a moderate, soft bitterness. The finish is off-dry and smooth, lacking any hop harshness or astringency. Aftertaste lingers with pleasant citrus oils and a clean fermentation character.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full, heavy body that remains graceful and smooth. Carbonation is moderate, enhancing the soft, pillowy texture. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but never sharp or fusel. No raw starch or astringency.

Dat zie je dan ook terug in de experimentele, creatieve en gedurfde bieren. Desalniettemin zijn hun ambachtelijke bieren erg volwassen en terecht gewild onder de liefhebbers. Er staan al meer dan 150 bieren op Untappd, en zeker weten dat er nog veel meer creaties aankomen. De bieren ontvangen hoge waardering, wij zijn er van overtuigd dat Stigbergets Bryggeri een mooie toekomst staat te wachten. Geweldige bieren van geweldige mensen.
