This contemporary take on an Irish Red Ale marries traditional malt depth with vibrant, modern infusions of lime and lychee. A base of lightly toasted malts provides a foundation of soft caramel and biscuity grain, characteristic of the style but bolstered by a slightly higher 5.8% ABV. The addition of lime peel and lychee fruit introduces a refreshing, tropical citrus top note that provides a bright contrast to the malt sweetness. Appearance. Medium reddish-copper with brilliant clarity. Pours with a low, off-white to light tan head with average persistence and light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring a base of toasted grain and light caramel. The aroma is distinctly accented by zesty lime and floral, sweet lychee notes. Hop character is low and earthy, while the fermentation profile is quite clean.
Taste. Initial impression of soft caramel and toffee sweetness followed by a grainy, biscuity malt palate. Mid-palate reveals bright lime citrus and exotic lychee flavors.
