This massive American Strong Ale is a masterclass in blending, merging the viscous depth of triple-barrel-aged Imperial Stout with the oxidative grace of Barleywine. The nose is an intense bouquet of dark chocolate, charred oak, and rich vanilla from M.J.K., layered with the vinous, jammy fruit of Port Barrel-Aged Ryewine. On the palate, a heavy, velvet-like body delivers flavors of molasses, espresso, and dark figs from Anabasis, balanced by a firm bitterness. The finish is remarkably long and warming, punctuated by spicy rye and toasted coconut, reflecting its extensive 12 to 46-month rest in spirit barrels.
