Revolution Brewing Company

This English Barley Wine presents a masterful synthesis of deep malt complexity and extensive bourbon barrel maturation. Waves of rich caramel and toasted brown sugar anchor the profile, elevated by an expressive stone fruit character that evokes dried apricots and plums. The high-gravity base, registering at 15% ABV, is expertly rounded by the spirit-forward influence of the oak, introducing lush vanilla and a sophisticated warmth that persists through the finish. Its viscous, mahogany depth reveals an alchemist’s blend where the luscious, chewy texture and vinous maturity create a decadent sensory experience designed for slow, contemplative sipping.

Appearance. Deep mahogany to copper with ruby highlights; brilliant clarity. Pours with a thin, tan-colored head with low retention, leaving pronounced legs on the glass indicative of high viscosity.

Aroma. High intensity with dominant notes of rich caramel, dark brown sugar, and toasted malt. Pronounced bourbon-derived vanilla and oak presence. Moderate to high fruitiness suggesting dried stone fruit and raisins, supported by a soft, refined spirit-like alcohol warmth and low earthy hop notes.

Taste. Initial impression of intense malty sweetness featuring complex layers of treacle, toffee, and biscuit. Mid-palette brings forward stone fruit and dark fruit esters.
